It’s about time planners learn to listen better.

I’ve long said that I’m an expert in solutions. I can respond with a comprehensive policy and design agenda (with my team/partners/stakeholders) to problems: the bus system isn’t serving our region effectively; too many crashes on our roads; local business isn’t experiencing regional levels of recovery. There are answers to all of these issues. Some are obvious and some are not. In essence, this is what a planner thinks they do.

It is, in a word, not. We’re stewards of public information. We can be masters of reversing spatial entropy. We can be great facilitators for a shared future that leads to dignity for all people in a community, or communities.
