Reece Martin on the Past, Present, and Future of Transportation
Ever need to know as much as possible about Toronto's transit system? How about Helsinki's?
I’m pleased to present a conversation I had with Reece Martin, who I’d qualify as one of North America’s foremost experts in transit planning. It’s not just his prolific output and years of experience unpacking why transit behaves the way it does, it’s also his approachable style and penchant for clear, concise explanations. He’s able to simplify decades of decisions into 20-30 minute videos.
I don’t want to conflate simplification for simplicity, however. These videos pack a punch and should be your first stop if you’ve ever stopped to ask yourself, “Why is my train late?” or “Who put that station there” or “What is a bus?” I continuously learn so much from Reece’s work and hopefully, you will too.
