Well, we've got another new dumbest article I've ever read.
That was fast. "The E-bike Is A Monstrosity" is either the deepest satire or the dumbest thing I've read since, well, two weeks ago.
If you’re wondering how to use superlatives correctly, you’ll have to ask my editor, who is me. I do a decent job self-editing, but it’s always good to have another person help shape the cadence and syntax of one’s writing. If I could afford one, I’d write this full time; as it stands this is what you get.
The same cannot be said for the most recent “opinion” piece written in what I’ll call “Substack+,” which you might find referred to as The Atlantic. This institution of democratic (small d) ideas hosts work from some of America’s best writers (Jerusalem Demsas, Derek Thompson, Zeynep Tufekci), but the republic of thought also churns out drivel, as exemplified by Ian Bogost’s “The E-Bike Is A Monstrosity.” This piece is charmless and flirts with facts, only to be wrong twice a day.
